Artist's Description
King Tides are the highest high tides of the year, about a foot or two higher than average tides, which corresponds to the one to two foot rise in sea level expected during the next few decades. Here at Fort Point at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge, water crashes over the wall into the parking lot during a king tide event which usually occurs a few times a year between autumn and winter.

Born and residing in the San Francisco Bay Area, Laura Macky is a photographer whose primary focus is on landscapes, although you can find her photographing other subjects such as flowers and architecture now and again. Utilizing both camera work and post processing, Laura communicates her love of nature and the enjoyment of challenging herself to grow as an artist.
